2018: September Recap + October Goals #Powersheets

2018: September Recap + October Goals | The Social Walker

September Recap

I have absolutely no clue where September went. Like did I sleep through it or something?!? You’ll notice I actually didn’t accomplish a few goals, and I wrote a post about how to bounce back from unmet goals. September was busy with weddings and some travel and I started training for a half marathon (more on that later), and although it was a fun month, I’ve learned a lot too, and am glad it is over. You can also read in depth about my September goals.

MONTHLY GOALS

Start a Bible Study
This just didn’t happen. With joining Junior League and a few other night commitments, I haven’t made this a priority. In the post on how to handle unmet goals, I gave myself 3 questions to ask to determine whether this is something I want to move forward with. It is, so I’ve got to make a plan to get it going.

Finish & Mail Blankets
They are finished and in boxes! Which is great, but they are still in my car. To be honest, I was hoping to deliver them in person in Atlanta last week, but that didn’t happen. Moving this to October!

Abby’s Email Sequence
Nope. Not at all.

Youtube Bootcamp
Nope. Not at all.

Again, it goes back to having a plan. I want to do all 4 of these things, so I need to break them down on a weekly basis to actually accomplish them.

WEEKLY GOALS

Marketing Plan
I’ll give myself a big High Five on this one! Still not quite to par, but definitely improving!

Budget Check-in
The plan I put in place this month (how and when I’ll check in) made such a huge difference for this goal. Every Thursday I compared receipts to my online account to see where my money was going and what I can cut out for October.

Hangout with a Friend
Done done done and soooo good to make this a priority. I don’t mean to not hang out with people but life just gets busy y’all. Write it down and text those friends. It will happen and it’s worth it.

DAILY GOALS

My Daily Business Hour
For sure 10/19 days. I’m pretty happy with this. Moving forward, I think Friday’s DBH is going to be split between Abby’s Welcome Email course and Trena’s Youtube Bootcamp. Make a plan for each day and you’ll succeed!

Read a Chapter a Day
This is a negative. So is this a priority moving forward? Maybe not right now.

Have My Quiet Time
21/30 days complete!

Workout
I definitely kept running this month but didn’t really include weights. So yes and no on this one haha. My plan was to give myself until the end of September to see if I could actually run a half marathon in October. It was a bit of stretch only having 8 weeks to train and being gone so much. I’ve decided to run the 5k in October but to keep training for a half later this year or early 2019. At first, I didn’t like that idea, but I know I need more training to be successful and to do this appropriately.

October Goals

October is one of my favorite months! I think with the weather cooling down I can enjoy running outside and the leaves are so pretty. Plus my annual trip to the mountains with college friends is always at the end of the month and I look forward to it every year.

MONTHLY GOALS

September Goals to finish:
Start OR JOIN a Bible Study -
I don’t need to be the leader, but I need and want the community.
Finish & Mail Blankets - this is a no brainer

WEEKLY GOALS

Email Sequence & Youtube Bootcamp
I’ve decided to make Friday mornings my learning day. So I’ve moved this from monthly to weekly to give myself a more structured way to handle this.

Marketing Plan
Typical. But now including the Email Sequence and YouTube stuff above!

Budget Check-in
I really liked what I did in September, so I’m just going to keep that going and maybe even use the cash system for eating out. Once its gone, its gone!

Meal Prep
Because one of my weekly goals is budgeting and one of my daily goals is working out, I’m getting back to meal prepping. I’m sorta doing the Tone It Up 31 Day October Challenge, (I’m a picky eater haha!), but the two main reasons are that I need to stop eating out for those quick lunches or dinners, and I don’t want to counteract all the running I’m doing. If I’m going to run 3 miles, I want it to show! #noshame

DAILY GOALS

My Daily Business Hour - the only way my weekly marketing goals will be done!

Have My Quiet Time - Reading my Bible daily and writing in my prayer / gratitude journal.
Workout - either run each day or do the Tone It Up free moves in their app. I’ve decided to not run the half marathon this month and keep training for it later in the year. At first I was disappointed, but I realize it’s a mature decision because I still need a lot more training. Eating healthy is part of this goal and my weekly meal prep/budgeting goals too.
Early to Bed - I changed my fitbit notification for bedtime from 10:45p to 9:45p. Haha I have just let that little thing buzz and ignored it. But no more. At 9:45 I want to start putting my phone away and maybe read a little before bed (or do my quiet time if I didn’t do it that AM).
Early to Rise - These last four go together. My nights are pretty full, and I’ve always wanted to be a work out in the morning girl, but for that to happen, I can’t stay up until 12am anymore and expect to wake up at 5:30. My goal for this month is just to start getting up at a consistent time - say 6-6:30a, instead of 7a. Yep, I’m just starting with baby steps okay?!

I’d love to hear your goals! Leave them in the comments below or link to your blog.
